This Lowry Bay project highlights Supreme Balustrades’ technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail. The combination of framed, frameless and slatted solutions creates a cohesive, visually appealing design that enhances the home’s functionality, privacy, and safety.
The architecture presented a number of design challenges. The home required outdoor railings that complemented the modern design while providing secure boundaries, pool fencing that met New Zealand pool safety standards, privacy screening that offered discretion without blocking natural light, and internal stair and landing barriers with handrails that maintained a clean, minimalist look. Each system needed to integrate seamlessly across different surfaces and transitions, while fully complying with NZ Building Code requirements.
Working closely again with architect Alan Minty and builder Darren Lyons, Supreme Balustrades managed the process end-to-end, from measuring and quoting, to precision fabrication at Supreme Balustrades’ Upper Hutt factory, and on-site installation. This ensured every intersection, level change, and finish was executed with care, making the integration of multiple systems appear seamless.
A combination of UNEX systems was selected to address the home’s varied requirements. Around the pool, the Siena Semi-Frameless Glass Balustrade was used as a compliant pool fence and fall barrier, providing safety without interrupting the views. The Ascot Framed Balustrade was installed in other exterior areas, adding robust structural support with a refined, modern appearance. For privacy screening and gate access, the Safa-Slat Balustrade provided effective coverage while maintaining clean lines. Inside the home, Arena Points Frameless Glass Balustrades were used on the internal stairs and landing, offering transparency and a contemporary feel while ensuring safety and durability
